Dr. Rodriguez is on staff at both Scripps and Sharp hospitals in San Diego. He practices the full spectrum of plastic surgery including body contouring, breast surgery; facial rejuvenation, reconstruction after trauma to the face and body and pediatric reconstruction. Dr. Rodriguez earned his medical degree from the National University of Mexico where he graduated summa cum laude. He completed his integrated plastic surgery residency training at Virginia Tech Carilion. He then pursued further training in craniofacial surgery at one of the top programs in the country at the University of California San Diego.
Dr. Rodriguez has written numerous articles that have been published in major plastic and aesthetic surgery journals and he has presented extensively at national and international conferences in plastic surgery. Prior to his surgical training, he honed his aesthetic skills while completing a prestigious N.I.H research fellowship at the University of Michigan studying complex facial reconstruction. He continues to be active member in academia and always stays current with the latest advancements in aesthetic surgery.
Outside of his work at Rodriguez Plastic Surgery, Dr. Rodriguez volunteers his time to provide cleft lip and palate repair to underserved patients in Mexico.
When not in surgery, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. He also likes to explore San Diego and see everything the city has to offer.

Jose bedside manner and his ability to repair my damages. i hade a dog bite with a huge chunk of my cheek missing. as i arrived at the hospital I thought I would be mangled forever. even the staff gasped. Dr Jose was called in and took his time and care and really did an amazing job as if it was effortless. his attention to detail and repair was beyond my expectations and I recommend him. his reconstruction I could not believe was possible. This man saved my face !!!!!!!!
